This purple high-fiber breakfast smoothie is one of my long-standing favorites, and for good reason. It’s simple, fast, naturally energizing, and one of the easiest ways to dramatically increase your daily fiber intake.
This smoothie delivers a powerful fiber boost in a form that actually tastes great. Thanks to blueberries, chia seeds, and psyllium husk, it contains roughly 28 grams of fiber in one serving!
Fiber plays a major role in digestion, blood sugar balance, gut health, and maintaining a healthy weight, yet most people still fall far short of what their bodies need. While general guidelines recommend about 25 grams per day for women and 38 grams for men, many people only get 10–15 grams (if that!).
(Note and swallowing caution: Do not use psyllium husk if you have difficulty swallowing or esophageal issues. It expands and thickens rapidly and may be hard to swallow.)
Why You’ll Love This High-Fiber Smoothie
- Beautiful deep purple color from blueberries
- Extremely filling thanks to fiber + protein + omega-3s
- Supports digestion & gut health
- Naturally stabilizes blood sugar
- Takes 5 minutes with no prep

This high-fiber breakfast smoothie is thick, creamy, and deeply satisfying, with the perfect balance of protein, healthy fats, and slow-digesting carbs to keep you full and focused all morning. I love having this within an hour of waking, alongside my usual supplements, and I’m set until lunchtime.
Tips for Best Results
- Drink right away. Psyllium thickens quickly and will turn a smoothie into pudding—this high-fiber smoothie is best fresh.
- Hydrate well. Fiber works best when you’re properly hydrated. Drink plenty of water after consuming.
- New to psyllium? Start with 1 teaspoon and work your way up over a few days.
