This Purple High-Fiber Breakfast Smoothie is a creamy, filling breakfast smoothie with blueberries, chia seeds, protein powder, and psyllium husk for a powerful 28-gram fiber boost that supports digestion and steady energy all morning. Note: Psyllium thickens quickly and will turn a smoothie into pudding—this high-fiber smoothie is best fresh.

- 16 ounces filtered water
- 1 serving vanilla protein powder
- 1 heaping tablespoon psyllium husk fiber
- 1/2 small frozen banana
- 1/3 cup frozen blueberries
- 1 heaping tablespoon chia seeds
- A few ice cubes
Optional add-ins:
- Probiotic powder (stir in after blending)
- Handful of spinach (you’ll lose some purple color, but gain nutrients)
Instructions

Add all ingredients to a high-speed blender and blend until completely smooth. If using a probiotic powder, stir it in after blending. Drink immediately as psyllium husk will expand and thicken.

- Drink immediately: Psyllium thickens quickly, so this smoothie is best enjoyed right after blending.
- Hydration matters: Fiber in general works best when you’re well hydrated—be sure to drink water throughout the morning.
- New to psyllium? Start with 1 teaspoon and increase gradually over several days.
- Swallowing caution: Do not use psyllium husk if you have difficulty swallowing or esophageal issues. It expands and thickens rapidly and may be hard to swallow.
