Looking for a creamy, nutrient-dense avocado smoothie that’s packed with flavor and health benefits
This Apple & Avocado Green Smoothie is one of my favorites—a perfect way to enjoy apples at their peak while sneaking in leafy greens and healthy fats.
Apples add natural sweetness, fiber, and plant nutrients, while avocado makes the texture extra smooth and provides heart-healthy fats. While apples are in season in Fall, they’re widely available year-round, making this delicious smoothie great any time of year.
Fresh lemon, ginger, and raw honey brighten the flavor and give your immune system a gentle boost.
This easy recipe is kid-friendly and comes together in just minutes with relatively easy-to-find ingredients. It’s perfect for a quick breakfast, snack, or light lunch.
Why You’ll Love This Avocado Smoothie?
- It’s naturally sweet and creamy
- It’s high in fiber, antioxidants, and healthy fats
- It’s loaded with immune-supporting ingredients
- It’s dairy-free and easily adaptable

Best Tips for the Perfect Avocado Smoothie:
- Try different varieties of apples: Use a tart apple like Granny Smith for a slightly tangy flavor, or a sweeter variety like Honeycrisp or Cosmic Crisp for extra sweetness (or a mix of both sweet and tart apples!)
- Swap spinach for kale or other greens if you prefer, or leave them out if you find this smoothie too “green”
- You control the sugar: You can leave out the honey if you’re apples are sweet enough to your taste
- Make it vegan by replacing honey with maple syrup or your favorite vegan sweetener
- Bananas are optional. Bananas are great to add creaminess, fiber, minerals, and sweetness to your smoothies. Some people don’t like bananas, so I wrote and tested this recipe to make it optional. Frozen bananas are awesome in smoothies like this if you’re going to use them. I’ve had this avocado smoothie both with and without the banana—it’s great either way. - Want to up the protein? Add either a serving of protein powder or 1/2 cup of unsweetened Greek yogurt to your smoothie. If you add protein powder, add extra almond milk or water and blend to your preferred consistency.
