This whipped feta dip is perfect for any occasion, from a casual lunch with friends to hosting a dinner party. The best part? It takes just a few minutes to whip up (pun intended)!

Ingredients You’ll Need

  • Feta cheese – Use a block of good quality feta in the refrigerated section. I do not suggest using the already crumbled feta as it is coated with “anti-caking” powder that can change the texture of your dip. It can also be too dry and overly salty. 
  • Whole milk Greek yogurt – This will make the dip extra creamy and smooth. Be sure to use the unflavored version. 
  • Extra-virgin olive oil – Adds to the feta during blending to create a smooth creamy finish. You will also want to drizzle some on the top too as garnish.
  • Fresh lemon juice – Just enough to add a little brightness to the feta.
  • Garlic – Be sure to use fresh garlic and not jarred. Just one clove will do nicely. 
  • (Optional) Toppings – Fresh herbs, toasted nuts, or za’atar seasoning make for great toppings that make your whipped feta dip beautiful and delicious.

How to Make Whipped Feta Dip

  1. Blend the Base: In a food processor, combine the feta cheese, Greek yogurt, olive oil, lemon juice, and garlic clove. Blend on high until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Stop and scrape down the sides as needed. It should be creamy and spreadable.
  2. Plate It Up, Garnish & Serve: Place the whipped feta to a serving dish. Use the back of a spoon to create swirls in the dip for an extra fancy touch. Drizzle a little extra-virgin olive oil over the top, then sprinkle with your favorite additions. Add a fresh pop of color with the freshly chopped parsley or a little crunch with a few chopped nuts, such as crushed pistachios. 

To Serve: Pair your whipped feta dip with warm pita bread, crusty baguette slices, or an assortment of fresh veggies like cucumber, bell peppers, and cherry tomatoes. Trust me—it’s a hit no matter how you serve it.

    Equipment You’ll Need

    • Food Processor or Blender – Be sure to use a food processor or a blender. A food processor is ideal to scrape the dip into the bowl, but if you only have a blender that works. Please note that a stand mixer will not be able to break down the feta well. 
    • Optional: Fine Mesh Strainer – I don’t pass my feta dip through a strainer or sieve because I like the natural texture. If you want it ultra-creamy, pass it through a fine mesh strainer to give the smooth desired consistency.

    Tips & Variations

    • Use High-Quality Feta: Opt for block feta packed in brine for the best flavor and creaminess. Crumbled feta would work in a pinch too, but may not blend as smoothly because pre-crumbled cheese is coated with an anti-caking powder that can affect the final result. It’s best to stick with the block when possible.
    • Make It Ahead: Whipped feta dip can be made up to a day in advance. Store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator and give it a good stir before serving. Just add your favorite garnishes right before serving to keep it looking fresh! 
    • Get Creative with Garnishes: Add toasted pine nuts, a drizzle of honey, or even a sprinkle of za’atar for an extra flavor boost.
    • Leftovers: Whipped feta dip is perfect for more than just an appetizer—use up any leftover dip by enhancing any dish. Spread it on a sandwich or wrap instead of mayo. Top off your favorite bagel or stir it in with your favorite pasta for added creaminess.

    Instructions
