Description
Pico de gallo is a classic side dish that goes with just about anything. We love it on tacos, nachos, or as a simple snack with tortilla chips.
Ingredients
- 1/2 white onion, diced (about 1 cup diced onion)
- 3 tablespoons fresh lime juice (1-2 limes)
- 1 jalapeno pepper, membrane removed and deseeded, minced
- 1/2 cup cilantro, chopped
- 3 medium tomatoes or 1 pint cherry tomatoes, (about 2 cups diced tomatoes)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt + more to taste
Instructions
- Dice the onion then add it to a medium mixing bowl, then squeeze in lime juice and stir to coat. Set aside to soak in the lime juice while you chop the rest of the ingredients.
- Dice the tomatoes, chop the cilantro, and mince the jalapeno. Add to the bowl with a big pinch of salt and stir to combine.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least an hour to allow the flavors to come together.
