Description

Quinoa is high in protein and fiber, and adding crispy quinoa to any meal is a great way to add fun texture and flavor to your dish.

Ingredients

Units
  • 1 cup cooked quinoa (it needs to be already cooked and cooled, and mostly dry)
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil (or your preferred cooking oil)
  • 1/4 teaspoon fine-grain sea salt (I use Real Salt), or 1/2 tsp Diamond Crystal kosher salt

optional, add extra flavor with herbs, chili oil, or a natural sweetener of choice (see ideas in notes)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F.
  2. Combine cooked quinoa with extra virgin olive oil, and salt then mix well.
  3. Spread the quinoa on a parchment-lined baking sheet in a single layer. Bake at 375°F for 25-30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes.
  4. If adding an optional flavoring, add in the last 10 minutes of baking and toss to coat.
  5. Once golden brown and crispy, remove from the oven.

Serve crispy quinoa as a topping, part of a quinoa bowl, or as a side dish. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 7 days.

Notes

  • Za’atar seasoning
  • Dried herbs or spices such as thyme, coriander, cumin, or oregano
  • Balsamic glaze
