I’m beyond excited to share the cover of my new book The Health Habit: 7 Easy Steps to Reach Your Goals and Dramatically Improve Your Life.
Crazy in that I did two full book shoots that gave us perfect photos for the inside, but none of them worked for the cover. Covers are notoriously hard to shoot, which was a small detail that my book team had left out. Ha! Now I know.
We did a third cover-only shoot at the last minute, and the photo that ended up on the cover was an ad-lib in the hallway on our way out meant for Instagram or promos. The sweater I’m wearing in the photo was just the sweater I had on that day after the main shoot—not even part of the wardrobe that I had AGONIZED over for 2 months (ladies, I know you feel me on this 🙋🏼♀️).
I put this photo in the catchall folder for the book. The designer mocked up three or four options for the publisher to choose from, and this final cover photo was the one she picked and the one the publisher (Hay House) loved the most.
Big thanks to the mega-talented D’Arcy Benincoasa for capturing this image. She’s awesome and you should hire her for your photography needs.
This cover photo is totally not what I expected (the main photo shoot was in a kitchen). But it’s a great reminder that the good things in life usually turn out how you least expect them to.
The Health Habit is completely focused on building daily healthy habits you love without dieting, and it’s all brand new content. I also crack a few jokes, so please laugh when you read it so I don’t feel bad that I spent seven months writing it.
You can pre-order it now on Amazon or through any major bookstore (in-person or online) in the US, Canada, the UK, and Australia.
I’ll share more as we have it. For now, just remember that things rarely work out the way you think they will, but they can be even better 😉
Instead of prescribing what I think you should do, I help you find what works for you.
