This month marks the two-year anniversary of the documentary film Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead and if you’ve never seen it, you’re missing out on a great story that could possibly change your life.
I first watched this award-winning documentary film a few years ago when it first came out and was truly moved by the story. The film follows a man named Joe Cross on his journey to heal his body from the inside out. With conventional medical treatments unable to help him, Joe went on a 60-day veggie juice fast while taking a 3,000 mile road trip across the US.
His results were astounding; he lost his belly fat & excess weight, healed his auto-immune disorder, and was able to get off all of this medications.
During his journey Joe met a morbidly obese truck driver named Phil and introduced him to juicing. The film also follows Phil and his emotional healing journey. Again, his results are truly astounding. This film highlights the power of the body’s ability to heal itself when given the right foods (and when the wrong ones are kept out.)
If you or anyone you know has been struggling with disease or excess weight, then you need to watch Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead.
To celebrate the film’s 2-year anniversary and over 5,000,000 worldwide views, you can watch the entire documentary for free on YouTube through June 20th. I’ve embedded below here for you to watch, so grab a cup of hot tea (or a fresh green juice!) and cozy up to watch it. I also encourage you to share this video with anyone and everyone in your life as it can be the catalyst for people to finally make a change.
My Recommendation: Get a juicer and get in on the fun! I recommend having a fresh green juice or fresh green smoothie each day. The film’s focus is juicing, but green smoothies are another excellent way to heal the body. For juicing, I have a Breville Multispeed Juice Fountain (I bought it on Zappos.com because they have free shipping and no sales tax–love them.) For smoothies, I have both a Vitamix 5200 and a Nutrbullet.

Important Note: I highly recommend, as does the film, that if you choose to do a juice fast (i.e., consuming nothing but juice for an extended period of time) that you first consult your primary health care provider. While adding fresh green juice into your healthy eating plan is great for everyone, doing a full-on juice fast should be done under the supervision of a licensed health care provider. Both Joe and Phil were under the supervision of medical professionals while juice-fasting.

About The Film:
100 pounds overweight, loaded up on steroids and suffering from a debilitating autoimmune disease, Joe Cross is at the end of his rope and the end of his hope. In the mirror he saw a 310lb man whose gut was bigger than a beach ball and a path laid out before him that wouldn’t end well— with one foot already in the grave, the other wasn’t far behind. FAT, SICK & NEARLY DEAD is an inspiring film that chronicles Joe’s personal mission to regain his health. You can learn more about the film and celebrate it’s two year anniversary here.
