Crazy Easy Berry Sorbet

Making this yummy, healthy, and delicious dessert is almost too easy it feels like cheating.

Just a few simple ingredients and viola! Your friends will think you’re a master chef.

The kicker? You need a Vitamix or super duty blender to make it. Give it a try in any blender or food processor that you have, and consider investing in a Vitamix if you need one – it’s the most versatile tool in a healthy cook’s kitchen and comes with a 7 year warranty. It turns raw veggies into soup, makes nut butters and does a ton of other neat tricks in the kitchen.

Back to the sorbet. You can use any kind of frozen berries you’d like, just make sure they’re frozen. My favorite is cherry or mixed berry. Whip this up right before you eat it for the best texture, or you can put it in the freezer for a few hours until you’re ready to eat.

This guilt-free dessert is FULL of antioxidants and fiber, so feel free to have it as often as you’d like.

Crazy Easy Berry Sorbet Recipe

  • 2 cups frozen berries, your choice
  • ¾ cup almond milk
  • ¼-½ cup purified water
  • Optional: ⅛ teaspoon vanilla extract

Recipe: Add the berries and almond milk to the Vitamix and blend at the lowest variable speed, taking about 10 seconds to increase the dial to full speed. You make have to do this 2 or 3 times and turn off the blender in between to push the berries down. Add small amounts of water to blend to a sorbet consistency (the amount of water will depend on the berries you use).

Don’t over blend as the heat/friction of the mixing will melt the sorbet. Serve immediately in dessert glasses and garnish with a few whole berries and/or a few sprigs of fresh mint. Tip: martini glasses make excellent dessert glasses. You can also store in the freezer for a few hours before serving, but it might melt a little, so fresh is always best.
