If you find it hard to stick to a healthy eating plan, these two tips might help.
When it comes to healthy eating, I think there are two main reasons that you might not stick with it:
- You focus too much on what you need to take out (deprivation) instead of what you get to add in (healthy whole foods are delicious!), and/or
- You don’t know how to make healthy food taste so good that you crave it.
The first one just requires a mindset shift and is a cornerstone of what I teach in my 10-Step Clean Up Your Diet Program. When it comes to healthy eating, focus on what you GET to eat, not on what you have to eliminate and you’ll naturally start to crowd out the bad stuff.
The second reason also has a pretty easy fix and is what I love to teach the most. You just need to learn how to prepare healthy food that you love to eat. Experiment with new flavors and textures of whole foods to come up with healthy meals that you actually look forward to eating.
Here are a few of my favorite healthy recipes that I made last week to get you started:
- Detoxing Fiesta Soup
- Un-fried Fried Rice
- Curry Quinoa Salad
- Spaghetti Squash Noodles with your favorite pasta sauce
- Balsamic-Thyme Lentils
Cheers!
